Schema therapy is a highly successful approach for helping clients with range of mental health disorders. Dr Iain McCormick has adapted this approach, that was originally used with the clinical population, for use with coaching clients. A schema is an early organised and persistent pattern of thoughts, feelings and behaviour that has a profound impact on adult life.
Schema can have either a positive or negative impact on the individual's life. This presentation is based on his new book Schema Coaching: Overcoming Deep-seated Challenges. He presents the approach in two parts, the first is primarily designed for coaches that do not have clinical or related training and the second includes more advanced techniques which are designed for coaches with clinical training or qualifications. The presentation will be suitable for all coaches, coaching psychologists, coaching educators, and anyone with a general interest in this topic.
